Bill Wyman - Monkey Grip (1974)

Today you're escaping to 1974!

This ISN'T a lost, Rolling-Stones like gem. It isn't even like the Stones.

So why am I asking you to download it?  Because it remains a nice pop/rock album, with a pretty cool opening track.  A mediocre rock album from a relatively insignificant member of an old rock band is still better than anything coming out today.

1. I Wanna Get Me a Gun  ***  - best track
2. Crazy Woman  **
3. Pussy * - stupid double entendre... in fact, it's  more like a single entendre
4. Mighty Fine Time ***
5. Mokey Grip Glue **
6. What a Blow ***
7. White Lightnin' **
8. I'll Pull You Thro'  **
9. It's a Wonder ***

Beckies Album

Are you a fan of the song Walk Away, Renee? If so, you may have wondered who wrote it and what happened to the man who wrote that song.

The man's name is Michael Brown.  The singer was named Steve Martin.   While they parted ways soon after "Renee" Brown went on to form two other bands.

The first was Stories, a great band on its own.  You can find their albums around the net. Lesser known is Brown's work with Beckies, which is why I've posted it here.

Let the ad speak for itself:

Here's an advertisement for the album.... along with Alice Cooper's latest (at the time!)
